Jeffrey Tambor is officially returning for the upcoming fifth season of Arrested Development.

According to CBS News, Netflix confirmed the news of Jeffrey Tambor’s return to the outlet ahead of Arrested Development’s big premiere via the online streaming platform later this year.

Tabor plays George Bluth Sr. on the series, which was picked up by Netflix just last year.

While we’re sure Arrested Development fans will be happy to see the actor return for the new season, the news comes as a bit of a surprise.

Just last year Tambor, like many other high profile celebrities, found himself at the center of controversy after several claims alleging misconduct were brought forth against the actor.

The allegations, from Tambor’s personal assistant, as well as Transparent guest star Trace Lysette, prompted Amazon to launch an internal investigation on the matter.

Though Tambor denied the allegations, the actor still left the award-winning Amazon series shortly before the show returned for its new season this past February.

Things may not have panned out at Amazon, but according to Arrested Development co-star David Cross, Tambor has more than a few people in his corner.

“I can’t speak for everybody, but I know there are a number of us who stand behind him,” said Cross in reference to the Arrested Development cast. “From the limited amount we know, we stand behind Jeffrey— I am one of them.”

Arrested Development season 5 is set to premiere soon on Netflix.
