A new clip from Divergent depicts Tris seeing Four under a simulation at the doing of Jeanine.

The three lead characters appear in this scene from the new film hitting theaters March 21. Four stands still and silent as Jeanine tells Tris why they’re safer by having him under control.

“The brilliance of the faction system is the conformity to the faction removes the threat of anyone exercising their independent will,” she explains. “Divergents threaten that system. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a certain beauty in your resistance. Your defiance of categorization. But it’s a beauty we can’t afford.”

We’re loving the acting work put on by Kate Winslet and Shailene Woodley, and Theo James’ dead pan stare is just eerie.

Clips have been released at a steady pace this week. The first clip saw Tris breaking free of her simulation, and the second showed Eric telling Dauntless initiates that they can get cut (which is a “new rule” in the movie adaptation). Finally, this TV spot is worth a watch too.

Hypable spoke to the cast and Divergent author Veronica Roth on Tuesday. We asked the writer if there was anything in the film that she wish she included in the movie, and she told us it would’ve involved Jeanine. “It would be to make [Jeanine] more nuanced and maybe a little more present at the ending,” she said. “They did that in the movie and I’m really happy with it.”
