TIDAL subscribers looking to stream JAY-Z’s new album, 4:44, don’t have to worry about any pre-existing parameters blocking them.

According to a statement released on the rapper’s official Facebook page, JAY-Z’ new album is now available to stream for all TIDAL users, regardless of when they signed up for the online streaming platform.

“Celebrate the 4th of July with 4:44 and ‘Footnotes for The Story of O.J— streaming now for ALL TIDAL users, courtesy of Sprint,” reads the statement which appeared on JAY-Z’s page on Monday (July 3).

The statement came paired with a powerful video featuring JAY-Z and actor Michael B. Jordan talking about what it’s like to be black in America.

Many fans who were looking to stream 4:44 when the album was released on June 30 were left with a sour taste in their mouths when they realized that the album was only available to stream via TIDAL for those who had signed up to the service prior to June 26, or to Sprint customers.

Hordes of fans, who’d signed up for TIDAL solely for the purpose of streaming the rapper’s first album in four years but missed that June 26 deadline, took to Twitter to express their distaste.

In fact, even some of JAY-Z’s famous friends couldn’t get their hands on the coveted record thanks to the TIDAL fiasco. As The Fader hilariously points out, fellow rapper Snoop Dogg had to resort to acquiring a “bootleg” version of the new record in order to experience it.

Given the hype surrounding JAY-Z’s latest offering, we’re sure there’ll be plenty of music fans streaming the new album over the 4 of July holiday — especially now that there aren’t any restrictions in place.
