In a new interview, Jason Momoa discusses his recent roles on Game of Thrones and in Conan the Barbarian. He talks about the similarities, yet how different the characters are, his plans for future Conan films and hope that Drogo will return to his Khaleesi!

Momoa tells the Miami New Times that while both Conan and Drogo were “from savage races,” he found it more challenging to play Drogo:

Playing Drogo is infinitely harder in the sense of acting, because of his presence. Conan is all action. But Drogo’s a king, man. Drogo holds himself with an air that you just cant… I mean, I don’t walk around as king of my own house. It was very hard for me to carry myself as if I had a horde of 400,000 people at my command. And then to do those speeches in Dothraki, and have that whole language. It was extremely hard.

He definitely did a good job as Drogo, and many fans miss him! While the character is obviously dead and there are no plans for his return, Momoa admits that, “Everyone misses him. Even I miss him,” and jokes that, “We may have changed George Martin’s mind, and by book seven, he’ll come back and rule the kingdom. Or have a twin brother. You never know.” One can always hope!

He also discusses the possibility of more Conan movies, saying:

This is the rebirth of the franchise. I mean that’s what I’m here for. There are tons of stories. I’ve even got my own stories. I’m going to take a stab at number two. […] It’s a beautiful origin story, and it sets up this world and this character perfectly. Next one is bigger and better.

Although the first movie has not received good feedback so far, we hope he gets a chance to develop this project that he is clearly passionate about.
