Jason Momoa will debut as Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But just how big of a role can we expect him to have?

The Aquaman movie isn’t coming out until 2018, but already next year will we see Jason Momoa’s character team up with Batman and Superman in Dawn of Justice – because apparently, the two most famous superheroes in any known comic book universe still isn’t enough to beat whatever foe they’re up against.

But maybe the land, sea and sky combination is exactly what’ll bring down the enemy? We’ll see.

When asked about his role in Batman v Superman at Sundance, Momoa was understandably tight-lipped. He did express a lot of enthusiasm for Zack Snyder’s DC universe vision; Den of Geek reports him as saying, “My jaw dropped … [and] my jaw doesn’t drop.”

“What he has planned for the DC world and definitely for Aquaman is something that, you know – I think I was brought on for a certain reason and they got some really cool plans for him,” Momoa teases. “I’m really excited for everyone to see it.”

So what, exactly, will we see when Momoa wetsuits up?

“Just going off what you’ve seen so far… I don’t think he is going to be blonde or white,” Momoa jokes. “I’m a little different than what those others… I hope you watch it with an open heart.”

Momoa’s comments also gave us a clue about the extent of Aquaman’s role in Batman v Superman. When speaking about his costume, he claims that he doesn’t know what it looks like because he hasn’t shot his scenes yet.

Considering the fact that filming for the movie wrapped in December, this probably means we’re looking at a cameo-sized appearance, meant to introduce audiences to the character rather than really explore him.
