Janelle Monáe is headed to Amazon to star in season 2 of their hit series Homecoming, based on a podcast of the same name.

Season 1 of Amazon’s Homecoming starred Julia Roberts, and while she is still staying on as an executive producer, Monáe will be taking over as season 2’s lead actress. We don’t have a ton of details about Monáe’s character just yet, but we are so pumped to see her taking the lead on a new series.

As Variety reports, Monáe’s character is said to be a “tenacious woman who finds herself floating in a canoe, with no memory of how she got there or who she is.” We don’t yet know how season 1 will tie into season 2, but with a powerhouse like Janelle Monáe at the helm, season 2 of Homecoming is going to be must-watch television.

If you aren’t familiar with Homecoming, both the podcast and the television show focus on life at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center. Season 1 followed Heidi Bergman (Roberts) as she worked at the facility as a social worker. While Bergman was under the impression that she was working at a facility aimed at helping soldiers re-integrate into everyday life, it isn’t totally clear why they need this help.

Years after her time at Homecoming, Bergman realizes she is having trouble remembering what went on during her time at the facility, which is troubling since it has only been about four years. When she is questioned about her departure by someone from the Department of Defense, Bergman begins to realize that the true nature of Homecoming was anything but a mere halfway house for troubled soldiers.

It isn’t quite clear yet if Monáe will be playing someone living in Homecoming, or if her discovery in a canoe comes after she left (or escaped) from Homecoming. Either way, we have no doubt that season 2 will be just full of edge-of-your-seat tension, and we can’t wait.

If you haven’t checked out Homecoming yet, you can stream season 1 on Amazon, or you can download the podcast which the show is based on wherever you get your podcasts.
