Speaking of Michael, it seems like they generally do like each other, whether them being together romantically is an option, how does she really feel about that? They are partners but they are also having, I don’t know if you’d call it a relationship, an affair maybe.

It’s funny because I am so different from Nadine; I’m such a girl and an emotional person and Nadine is very solid and strong. To me it was funny because we shot the past scenes and the ones coming up because after the first hook up I talked to the writers and said, “So she is in love with him now?” Haha. She is a strong woman and she doesn’t need him. It was just for fun and I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea of just fun. Nadine is so capable and strong and nothing comes before her job, which has always been established about her and Michael is no different. I think she is surprised that she cares for him as a person but as the last couple episodes show and their relationship with Jane, she doesn’t want to compromise her career. More so that than being jealous or their relationship, I don’t think she wants to get screwed over by him because she cares about him as a friend more than anything but nothing is worth her career. Nadine is there for Nadine.

I know you probably can’t give too much away, but in one of the last episodes they mentioned Michael was in love with Jane until the day he died. Now it sounds like you are a fan of the show, does that specific word choice make you worried?

When we had the table read, after a couple of the writers were talking about it to Brett and I, and I never even picked that up which I know social media did. I mean, he is so brilliant. I can’t imagine that would happen.

It would a very big twist.

Yeah, I don’t know. We have a table read today and I just got the script ten minutes ago. So we find out crazy… I am actually still buzzing from what I just read, it’s so crazy. So we don’t know anything. But I can’t imagine they would do that to the fans.

Who do you think Jane should be with, not necessarily as Nadine, but as a fan?

I love Brett so much and I think he is such a great actor but I’m a Rafael-er. I’m a practical woman and this just makes more sense. Father of your child, he can take of your baby, they have such beautiful chemistry. Yeah, I’m Team Rafael.

What has been the most shocking moment for you on the show? I know TV pretty well and I know when something is fake and so this past week when they SPOILER slit Petra’s throat, I actually did gasp out loud, even as my brain was like ‘Okay, that was obviously fake, they didn’t just kill her off.’ The act of seeing it was so shocking.

That was a big one. I think Petra, and Yael who plays Petra, stopped breathing haha. I know she did actually. But for me, the Nadine and Michael hook-up was shocking. I think, the biggest shocker was Magda standing up and pushing Abuela down the stairs. I loved the character so that was shocking and frightening all in one go.

Can you tease anything coming up perhaps?

Ummm…

Without getting in trouble at the table read today?

I will lose my life! Haha. I think it’s essentially that the relationships are so complicated; the investigation is going to go on. Tonight’s episode is insane. (Read all about it here.) If you thought last week’s was insane with the reveal of Rose as Sin Rostro, but tonight’s is so crazy and nothing is as it seems. There’s a big reveal at the end of the episode that will blow everyone’s mind and the case is never wrapped up in an easy bow; it gets so much more complicated. All of these murders did not come from Sin Rostro.

We’d like to thank Azie for taking the time to talk to us, it was so fantastic and can’t wait to see what is in store for her and Nadine!

Jane the Virgin is off for two weeks but check back later for scoop on upcoming episodes!
