The curtains haven’t even fallen on Glee’s final season and Jane Lynch has already signed on to star in a new CBS comedy pilot.

We have great news for anyone who is already mourning the loss of Jane Lynch on their televisions every week. It was announced yesterday that the Glee actress has signed on to star in an upcoming CBS pilot, titled Angel From Hell. The half-hour comedy centers around two women who meet when the larger-than-life, brassy and flamboyant Amy (Lynch) enters Allison’s life and claims to be her guardian angel. The pair forms an unlikely friendship, and Allison can’t be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts.

Angel From Hell is the child of writer-executive producer Tad Quill, who’s past production credits include Bent, Scrubs, Samantha Who? and Spin City. From the little we know about Angel From Hell, it seems to have the same whimsical style as Tad’s other projects, which we think is perfect for Jane’s acting style. We’re also hoping for a bit of a departure from Jane’s, now iconic, Sue Sylvester and see her really channel a different character.

Jane has had a long film career, and may be best known for her roles in comedies such as Best in Show and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. She has received the most recognition, though, after spending the past six years starring as the crude cheerleading coach/principal Sue Sylvester on Fox’s Glee. The beloved show will finally come to an end when it airs it’s two-hour series finale on Friday, March 20.
