“Which is the better show: Malcolm in the Middle or Breaking Bad?”

Fans have asked the question because of Bryan Cranston’s involvement with both television classics. But today everyone’s putting their differences aside to celebrate Jane Kaczmarek’s announcement she’s going Bad.

UPDATE: Vulture has learned that Kaczmarek won’t actually be a part of the season. Rather, she’ll be in the DVD/Blu-ray special features. Hmmm.

The television gods decided to look down upon us when Breaking Bad star Dean Norris tweeted a photo of Kaczmarek, Cranston, and himself all on the Breaking Bad set last week:

Then Kaczmarek confirmed the news herself on her official Twitter account, which is home to a lonely 1,200 followers:

Kaczmarek played Lois, Hal’s (Bryan Cranston) wife on the Fox sitcom for its entire seven-season run.

There’s no word yet on who Kaczmarek will play. Obviously the show could blow all of our minds by giving her the role of Walter’s new love interest since things have been on the rocks with Skyler, but that just seems too good to be true.

Breaking Bad is currently filming its final eight episodes, known to some as the second half of season 5 and to others as just season 6, in New Mexico. The show premieres July 14.
