Christian Grey actor Jamie Dornan says that you won’t be seeing his penis in the upcoming sex-filled drama Fifty Shades of Grey.

In fact, Dornan says that before he even signed the dotted line, he made sure there was a promise that his penis wouldn’t appear in the film.

The topic came up when Dornan spoke to The Guardian about balancing Fifty Shades of Grey’s graphic sex with storytelling, “You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic,” he said.

When asked if there was “no sex” in the film, Dornan replied, “Sam [Taylor-Johnson, the director] is a very bright woman, so there might be some suggestive elements to it, but I haven’t seen it at this stage, so it is hard for me to say. I’m aware of what we shot, and it wasn’t as if we shot a film without any action.”

As for his dick making an appearance in Fifty Shades – something you would expect given the source material – Dornan said, “There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my [“todger”].”

Despite Dornan playing down the amount of graphic action in the film, the first trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey sets the bar at a certain fulfilling height:

We’re a bit surprised that A) Dornan was resistant to full frontal and B) the studio was okay with preventing any full frontal given the source material. Did original Christian Grey actor Charlie Hunnam have the same agreement?

Fifty Shades of Grey opens on Valentine’s Day. We’re not kidding when we say we will be in line for the midnight screenings.
