Jeff Winger’s reunion with his estranged dad, William, has been a long time coming on Community. And now thanks to the actor who plays William, James Brolin, we have our first hints at how it will all go down.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jeff will finally reunite with his dad during season four’s fifth episode, “Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations,” to air on March 7. Since it was initially scheduled to air in late November, the episode will serve as the show’s Thanksgiving special.

The Greendale Seven crew will be heading to Shirley’s house to indulge her love of baking on Turkey Day, while Jeff and Britta will be meeting with Brolin’s William Winger. It’s kind of sweet that despite how much Jeff denigrates Britta’s psychologist skills, he still wants her around during a potentially traumatic event.

Brolin says the episode will highlight the hilarious yet slightly tragic nature of the father and son’s interactions.

“From the moment he opens the front door, whatever he says is just off,” he said. “And when Jeff says something and he answers, it’s just not on the same track at all. There’s probably something very sad about this, but there’s something very funny and recognizable about it.”

Fans have been looking forward to Jeff’s confrontation for a while now and while James Brolin isn’t Bill Murray as some fans (and Dan Harmon) wished, he seems to have a decent handle on what the role means.
