Today Sony announced the Skyfall DVD/Blu-ray release date. It’ll hit store shelves February 18 in the United States and February 24 in the United Kingdom.

The film opened in European theaters weeks ahead of the United States, so this opportunity for Americans to get the DVD/Blu-ray ahead of our British friends is a bittersweet ending.

Skyfall was our favorite James Bond film to date and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. A complete box set which included all 22 Bond films (except Skyfall) was released earlier this year to mark the franchise’s 50th anniversary. It had a placeholder for owners to place their copy of Skyfall in once the film is released.

The 2013 Academy Awards, to be held February 24, will host a James Bond 50th Anniversary tribute, and last night we told you that all six Bond actors are rumored to unite. If true, it’ll be the first time they’ve all appeared together. It couldn’t be a better opportunity for them to make history!
