Orlando Bloom was uncertain if he’d have a role in Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales last December, but Disney confirmed today that the actor is indeed back.

The announcement was made during Disney’s live-action presentation at D23 Expo on Saturday morning. While certified good looking person Orlando Bloom wasn’t present, Johnny Depp was — and he was dressed up in the full Captain Jack Sparrow costume. The actor, in character, threw grapes into the crowd.

Backstage Johnny Depp / Captain Jack Sparrow met Harrison Ford, who was there for Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

“Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas,” reads a synopsis released by Disney earlier this year.

Said Bloom last December, “I’m not entirely sure that [I’ll be back] just yet, but there are talks. Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son. I’m of course Davy Jones now, so I’m down the bottom of the ocean.”
