The first trailer for Isn’t It Romantic is here and it’s anything but your typical rom-com.
The upcoming film, which hits theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day, stars Rebel Wilson as a young woman named Natalie who’s pretty cynical about the depiction of love peddled out to the masses in romantic comedies.
“All those movies are lies set to terrible pop songs,” she says at one point while discussing her dislike of the genre with co-workers.
Natalie may not care for rom-coms, but she’s about to become the leading lady in her very own rendition of one.
When she’s knocked out after a scuffle with a mugger on the New York subway, Natalie wakes to discover her “life’s become a mother f***ing romantic comedy — and it’s PG-13!”
Her new life comes equipped with all the classic rom-com tropes from random musical interludes and stereotypical besties to a hunky leading man.
Wilson took to Twitter to share the first trailer with fans saying, “Here’s a TREAT for you this HALLOWEEN! On Valentine’s Day 2019 ISN’T IT ROMANTIC is coming out and here is the first ever trailer especially for you!”

Wilson isn’t the only notable actor who’s featured in the upcoming film. The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra (Quantico), Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games), and Wilson’s fellow Pitch Perfect cohort, Adam Devine.
Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and written by Erin Cardillo and Dana Fox, Isn’t It Romantic hits theaters on February 14, 2019.
