Some interesting tweets from David Anders suggests that the actor might return to The Vampire Diaries in season 4.
As we previously reported, the actors have just begun arriving back in Atlanta to prepare for season 4, which will begin filming shortly.
Now, David Anders has revealed through a series of tweets that he is also in Atlanta, hanging out with some of the other actors from the show:

It is of course very possible that Anders, whose character John Gilbert was killed off at the end of season 2, is just in town for a social call. But we can’t help but wonder if he has perhaps returned to prepare for another appearance on the show.
To further the speculation, earlier in the day also happened to be a camera test, as showrunner Julie Plec revealed:

A few hours later, she even commented on Anders’ picture with Zach Roerig and Michael Trevino, saying, “That’s some scary s***.”
So what do you think? As Elena has just been turned into a vampire, isn’t it possible that her father (who gave his life up to prevent that very thing from happening) would return to speak to her through Jeremy?
