There’s great news for Weeds fans who don’t want season seven to be the end. Though reports have suggested season seven is the last, at today’s Television Critic’s Association press conferences Showtime president David Nevins hinted at otherwise!

Zap2It reports:

“I’m optimistic,” Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins said Thursday (Aug. 4) at the Television Critics Association press tour. “It’s been an interesting year, and I’m excited for people to see where it goes by the end of the season as all the stories coalesce.”

Nevins also praises creator Jenji Kohan for “evolving her show and making it move in different places,” which he thinks could help extend the life of the show.

“I haven’t picked it up yet, but I’m optimistic,” he says.

This is great news! If the ratings stay high then we imagine season 8 is a no-brainer. We just hope that the show’s creator Jenji Kohan will be back, as her current contract expires at the end of the current season.
