Friendly reminder: Last summer, J.K. Rowling told us that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is canon.
The Harry Potter author tweeted that it’s canon a little over a year ago. I thought I’d remind everyone since a lot of people are calling The Cursed Child fanfiction, which we will discuss here on the site later.
The story of #CursedChild should be considered canon, though. @jackthorne, John Tiffany (the director) and I developed it together.

Whether you believe it should be considered canon is a whole other matter, but I feel we should keep Rowling’s tweet in mind when debating the subject.
I, myself, consider it canon. While it may’ve been a collaboration, the fact of the matter is that Rowling signed off on everything. I don’t think she would’ve let anything be included in the story that she herself didn’t like.
