We’ve already been exposed to a healthy number of explosions from the Iron Man 3 trailer, but footage captured in Hollywood last night detail even more opportunity for action in the upcoming Iron Man 3.

We know that Southern California will be under attack again in Iron Man 3, what with Tony Stark’s Malibu home getting blown apart and falling into the ocean and all, but earlier films in the franchise have strayed away from destroying Hollywood landmarks.

It looks like The Mandarin has ironically targeted the famous (and recently re-named) Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, because these set videos below feature dozens of Los Anglians running from the theater, followed by a fireball that is then launched into the street.

The normally bustling street was shut down for filming, though a few strategically placed cars, trucks, and taxis have been put on the street to make it look as normal as possible.

Fun Fact: The El Capitan Theater, the Disney owned venue that hosted the US premiere of The Avengers (and will probably also be the first American theater to screen Iron Man 3) is directly across the street from Grauman’s Chinese.

Our first ‘Iron Man 3’ set video comes from just off-set, on the corner of Orange and Hollywood Blvd. You’ll also notice a typical Los Angeles exclamation of surprise in response to the explosion.

The second video gives us a better look at the vehicles involved, including how Southern Californians would react to an act of terrorism. This writer is a resident of Los Angeles, and can confirm that drivers would react by crashing into each other and bailing.

…and now we get a glimpse from the inside of the venue. Also featured in this video are four of the calmest crew members in existence.

‘Iron Man 3’ set video 4 comes to us from the screaming-crowd-panic-cam, and it may come in use for the poor fellow that gives us a PG-13 version of the classic ‘my leg’ joke from Spongebob Squarepants.

No explosion in this one, just dust, but it does give you an idea of exactly how close filming is to the Disney-owned El Capitan Theater.

The last ‘Iron Man 3’ set video can actually be easily confused with a typical day in Los Angeles. Also, someone else screams ‘my leg.’ Citizens of Los Angeles are known for their originality, after all.

Thanks to CBM for compiling the videos, and thank you to Stalker Sarah (via CBM) for capturing the gorgeous featured image in the header.

Do these ‘Iron Man 3’ set videos amp up your excitement for ‘Iron Man 3’?
