Iron Man 3’s DVD/Blu-ray release date is set for September 24, but today we have a short gag reel, along with a deleted scene which involves The Mandarin.

We’re inching closer to the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-ray release date. The film will be released on DVD/Blu-ray in the U.S. on September 24, and in the U.K. on September 9.

Today, Marvel has released a short gag reel from Iron Man 3, along with a deleted scene including Oscar winning actor Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin.

While the gag reel is certainly short (we imagine there will be a longer version included), it shows off our favorite superhero and actor, Robert Downey Jr., making a fool of himself in take after take. We look forward to seeing the full-length gag reel, which may only be available on the film’s Blu-ray.

The deleted scene released today from USA Today is an extension of the scene after the explosion occurs in which Happy Hogan is injured. It’s interesting that they cut this scene, as it would seem to give audiences a hint that something is not quite right with Ben Kingsley’s character.

It would have done quite a bit in keeping moviegoers on edge as to whether he’s the real Mandarin or not, especially with the “let’s make television” remark hinting at the future reveal that he’s simply an actor.

While we don’t believe there will be an Iron Man 4, at least not with Robert Downey Jr. in the suit, the actor did sign up for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3. So we’ll still be seeing RDJ involved with this character for the next few years.

We thought Marvel may have decided this year to release the film as close as possible all around the world, but it appears that they intend to separate the the two Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-ray release dates similar to what they did with The Avengers.

We now know the official Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-ray release date for the U.K. is September 9, and the official U.S. release date for Iron Man 3’s DVD/Blu-ray is set for September 24.
