I can’t claim to be a long-term Doctor Who fan; the first episode I ever saw was The Eleventh’s first Christmas Special. But from that moment on I was hooked on Who, and have since gotten my little brother and good friend hooked just by how much I mention it.

I have come to love and appreciate all of the Doctors and the way the show has had such a huge social impact from the moment it was introduced in the 1960s.

Now to my problem. I really want to introduce my roommate to the phenomenon that is Doctor Who, but I have zero ideas on how to go about it. Most people I know (as an American) just stumbled onto it. With such a wide variety of episodes and Doctors, how do I purposely introduce a newbie? Do I start with the First Doctor? With the 2005 reboot? With the most recent Doctor? Most popular Doctor? Or do I skip the fluffy (yet fun) episodes and get to the ones that make the most difference in Who mythology?

So help a sister out! Where should I start? How did you get started? I know you Whovians are quite opinionated, so sound off below!
