A spinoff of our previous tournament, BattleShips, Character Combat will be putting all of your favorite characters against each other on their own. Which character on TV is the best? You decide!
Previously on Hypable we’ve run several BattleShip competitions, a tournament style poll that pitted your favorite ships against each other to see who is the Ship of the Year. This time, we’re spicing things up a bit and pitting your favorite characters against each other without their partners. Is Elena Gilbert stronger or better than Rachel Berry? You get to decide that!
Character Combat will run in two phases through-out the rest of the year. This first phase, Fierce Females, will put the women in each currently airing TV show against each other. We want to celebrate the power, strength, and amazingness of our favorite female characters, and we want you to help us see which character is the most loved in fandom! The second phase will focus on the men in fandom, and that’ll be announced later this year.
Character Combat will work essentially like BattleShips did. In case you’re not familiar with our previous tournament, it all begins with a nomination round.
Below is a poll with as many amazing female characters we can think of. This tournament will only include characters on currently running television shows. We totally get that Buffy was kick-ass and probably would have kicked everyone’s butt in this tournament, but we’ve gotta give Olivia Pope or Elena Gilbert a shot!
After the nominations we’ll pick the top 24 contenders to play against each other in a tournament poll. You get to vote for your favorite character, and the winner will continue to be polled against the winner of the previous poll and so on, up until we have our favorite fandom female!
It’s time to select your favorite women from the TV season! Below you’ll find a comprehensive list of 200 ladies staring or co-staring in currently airing TV shows, not counting the brand new pilots that have yet to air this fall. We’ve tried our best to think of all the deserving characters but if you feel we’ve missed one then tell us in the comments! You can vote for as many ladies as you want.
