Into the Badlands season 3 is coming to a close, and we’ve got an exclusive clip from the penultimate episode, 3×15, “Requiem for the Fallen.”

On the last episode of Into the Badlands, Pilgrim and The Widow came face to face in battle. M.K. was seriously injured and Lydia fell on Cressida’s knife. The title for episode 3×15 feels fitting following these events.

The official synopsis for “Requiem for the Fallen” reads, “Sunny, Bajie, and Gaius seek an unlikely ally in the fight against Pilgrim. Cressida has a disturbing revelation. The Widow questions her future.”

That disturbing revelation is exactly what we get to see in our exclusive clip from Into the Badlands 3×15. Hold onto your butts because this is a wild ride.

In this clip, we see Cressida performing another ritual. She cuts her tongue, squeezes the blood out of some poor dead creature, recites a few words, and all of a sudden she’s transported to the future.

She’s surrounded by piles of charred bodies, while fire continues to consume the forest around her. When she turns, we see Pilgrim, his eyes black, standing behind her.

“Behold, my new Azra,” Pilgrim says. “Isn’t it glorious?”

Then, without hesitation, Pilgrim grabs a hold of Cressida’s neck and snaps it.

Cressida is immediately brought out of her vision, a tear rolling down her cheek.

Whew. That’s a lot to process. As much as I don’t like Cressida, I do love watching her on screen. Her rituals are always equal parts intriguing and gruesome. It seems like her magic is rooted in blood and pain, so it’s no wonder that she would have the reputation of someone powerful and dangerous.

It’s clear from her vision that if Pilgrim continues along the path he’s currently on, he will not usher in a new Azra. Rather, he will be the destruction of the entire world.

Yeah, everyone’s been kind of saying that since Pilgrim arrived. I’m glad Cressida is now on board, however. Perhaps she’ll end up switching sides and teaming up with our heroes in order to stop him.

The fact that Pilgrim snaps her neck seems to indicate that he will stop at nothing, and no one, to ensure his own vision of the future comes to pass. On the other hand, maybe it’s a prediction that Cressida will fall, and it will be at the hands of the person she trusted most.

Either way, we only have two episodes and two weeks until we find out exactly how Into the Badlands is going to pan out. These are the final two episodes of the series, since it was recently cancelled by AMC.

Fans are still holding out hope that another network or streaming service will pick up the show, but as of right now, we know season 3 will answer a lot of the questions we’ve been asking since day one.

Here’s to hoping Into the Badlands will live on in another form, such as a graphic novel, a movie, or even additional episodes hosted somewhere else.

Until then, let’s just enjoy what we have left!

‘Into the Badlands’ airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC
