Two new clips from The Divergent Series: Insurgent have surfaced over the past couple days and reveal how good of a job director Robert Schwentke did with the fight sequences.

In this first clip, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Peter (Miles Teller) are at Amity when the latter takes a jab at the former for getting her parents killed. Tris is livid at Peter’s remark and flips the table they’re eating at, crushing him. Tris may’ve killed Peter with the old knife-to-the-throat trick if it weren’t for Four (Theo James) stepping in to defuse the situation.

In this second clip, which debuted on MTV today, Eric breaks into the building where Tris and Four are hiding but ends up getting his ass kicked. Eric threatens to take Tris to Jeanine since she’s needed to help unlock the mystery box. Naturally, Tris isn’t going to go without a fight – one which leaves Eric dead:

Insurgent opens in theaters next Friday, March 20 and is tracking to do slightly better than Divergent’s opening weekend box office. We saw the film last week and will share our thoughts Wednesday evening once the embargo lifts.

How do you think ‘Insurgent’ is looking?

We love the Tris/Peter fight – it’s short but brutal.
