An actress who appeared in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has jumped from one dystopian book-to-film adaptation to another.

Stephanie Leigh Schlund announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that she has joined the Divergent sequel Insurgent. While she didn’t reveal who she’ll be playing, she did use the hashtag #Amity, which would suggest she’ll portray someone in that faction.

Schlund played Cashmere in The Hunger Games sequel. The character died during the 75th annual Hunger Games when, in the movie, the cornucopia tosses her into the water. In the book, she takes an axe to the heart from Johanna.

We applaud Schlund’s agent for managing to get the actress in to two dystopian adaptations from the same studio. Typically that type of thing is shied away from so as to not distract the audience.

Insurgent begins filming later this month in Atlanta, Georgia. Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet are all returning for their roles.

On May 12 we learned that actress Octavia Spencer joined the sequel as Amity leader Johanna. As filming ramps up, we expect to hear many more casting announcements.

The film will be released March 2015 and is directed by Robert Schwentke.

While you wait, you’ll have the just-announced Divergent DVD and Blu-ray to look forward to.

Who do you think Schlund will play in ‘Insurgent’?
