The highly-anticipated Divergent sequel Insurgent is ramping up filming hot on the heels of two of its stars wrapping press for another YA film.

Divergent series co-star Ansel Elgort, who plays Tris’ brother Caleb, tweeted yesterday that he’s preparing to head to the Atlanta, Georgia set of the production:

The news comes as Elgort and Shailene Woodley relax after a busy couple of weeks promoting The Fault in Our Stars, opening in theaters Friday, June 6.

Presumably other cast members will be heading to Atlanta soon, too, as filming starts up in the next couple of weeks.

Insurgent is the second story in Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy. Although the first movie shot on location in Chicago, the studio is shooting the sequel in Atlanta, which has become a hotbed for Hollywood productions in recent years thanks to nice tax credits offered by the city and state.

The movie will open in theaters March 2015 under the direction of Robert Schwentke.

Last month Summit announced that the final book in the series, Allegiant, will be split into two movies, which are set to open in March 2016 and March 2017 respectively.

As always, we’ll keep an eye on the production and share interesting tidbits as they’re released!

In related news, the entertainment news program The Insider announced this evening that the Divergent movie will be released on iTunes July 22 and will hit DVD/Blu-ray on August 5. More details will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
