Pixar’s Inside Out opened this past weekend and was a huge success at the box office in more ways than one.

The latest offering from the Disney-owned animation studio made $90.4 million in its first three days in theaters, making it the highest-grossing box office pull for an original movie during its opening weekend. The previous record holder was James Cameron’s Avatar, which made $77 million in its opening weekend in December 2009.

In a statement Disney added that Inside Out has made $132 million worldwide. Despite the record-breaking numbers, it was not #1 at the box office domestically — That honor went to Jurassic World, which made $106 million this weekend, according to Universal. That impressive pull gives the dino flick the title of top-grossing second weekend ever (Remember: It already holds the title of highest-grossing opening weekend in history, meaning its now beaten the original Avengers twice over).

Disney also noted that Inside Out has an “A” CinemaScore, meaning moviegoers are reviewing it very positively. Those glowing reviews match the feedback the film has been enjoying from critics — the film is currently riding at a 98% average on Rotten Tomatoes. We shared glowing thoughts about the movie too.

Another interesting stat: Inside Out made $34.2 million on Friday, making it the second-highest opening day for Pixar behind Toy Story 3. Widely considered one of Pixar’s best, the Toy Story threequel made $41.1 million on its opening day.

Inside Out stars Amy Poehler (Joy), Bill Hader (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger), Mindy Kaling (Disgust), and Phyllis Smith (Sadness).

Pixar isn’t finished for the year: They’ll be releasing another original movie, The Good Dinosaur, this November. Thanks to everyone’s recent dino fever (hello, Jurassic World), it wouldn’t be shocking to see The Good Dinosaur break some Pixar records too.
