Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Doctor Who star Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond in the hit time-travelling drama, briefly discussed leaving the show next series.

Last month we revealed that Karen Gillan’s time on the show was drawing to a close, with  Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat promising a ‘heartbreaking end’ for Amy and Rory.

Whilst the actress doesn’t reveal the exact timing or nature of her departure, she did reiterate that it will be during series 7. When asked if she thinks her character might die, Gillan replied, “It’s possible, but I don’t know. I have no idea.”

Perhaps the best news for Amy Pond fans is that the actress goes on to say that she would like to be a companion for life.

Doctor Who returns to our screens later this year.
