A new trailer for upcoming book-to-film adaptation, If I Stay starring Chloe Grace Moretz has surfaced online.

Gayle Forman’s bestselling novel, If I Stay is the latest Young Adult book to get the silver screen treatment and in the newest trailer for the upcoming drama, we see main character Mia struggling with trying to decide whether or not she should continue to live or pass on into the afterlife after a tragic car crash kills her parents and younger brother but leaves her in a coma.

Starring Kick Ass 2‘s Chloe Grace Moretz, the newest trailer for the upcoming film has a few new scenes and snippets of dialogue in it that have not been shown in previous trailers for the film. Most notably, this latest teaser further focuses on Mia’s love for her boyfriend, Adam (newcomer Jamie Blackley).

Author Gayle Forman acted as executive producer on the upcoming film which, like the book, focuses on Mia’s deliberation over what her future will hold and ultimately sets her up to decide whether to stay in the land of the living for love or to pass on in the midst of the tragic accident that left her an orphan.

If I Stay hits theaters in the United States on August 22, 2014.
