The first trailer for I Saw the Light has been released, featuring Loki actor Tom Hiddleston as the legendary country singer Hank Williams.

I Saw the Light is an upcoming biopic with Hiddleston starring as Hank Williams Sr., who is regarded as one of the most significant and influential American singers and songwriters of the 20th century. Watch the film’s first trailer below:

Hank Williams recorded 35 singles that made it into the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 number one records. In the first trailer we also see Avengers: Age of Ultron actress Elizabeth Olsen, who portrays Williams’ wife.

Early reports suggest that the film is a bit formulaic in terms of biopics, and the trailer does feel a bit like Johnny Cash’s biopic Walk the Line, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.

But, Tom Hiddleston is a big crowd pleaser, and we expect him to put in a solid performance as the country music legend. Elizabeth Olsen is also on her rise to mega-fame, and we’re interested to see the two working together in the upcoming biopic.

I Saw the Light was rescheduled from its original Oscar release of November 28, to March 25, 2016. The studio had originally hoped to see some Golden Globe and/or Oscar looks for Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, who earned great reviews for their performances when the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, but this year became a very crowded year for awards season.
