Heath Ledger’s life and death is the subject of a new documentary, titled I Am Heath Ledger. Watch the trailer here.

The tragic story of Heath Ledger — an epitome of Hollywood fame and genuine talent — has been waiting to be told since his untimely death from an accidental overdose in early 2008.

Almost 10 years later, the documentary I Am Heath Ledger is set to be less sensationalist and more celebratory, looking back at the Australian actor’s short but productive life and career.

The documentary is created by Derik Murray, and features footage shot by Ledger himself, thus being in part post-humously autobiographical. Take a look at the trailer:

Heath Ledger died after completing his work as the Joker on The Dark Knight and while filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. He left behind a daughter, Matilda, whom he had with his Brokeback Mountain co-star Michelle Williams.
