From The Dark Knight Rises to The Bourne Legacy, summer 2012 is bound to bring us some incredible blockbusters. Check out our list of 10 summer movies you just can’t miss.

Ted June 29

Watch Trailer

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane as Ted, this looks to be an incredibly funny partially-animated comedy. Wahlberg plays John Bennet, a grown man who has a close relationship with his teddy bear, which comes to life after a childhood wish. Mila Kunis is the smoking hot girlfriend (who realistically would never date a stuffed animal-loving man-child), begging John to get rid of his insane bear so that they can move forward with their relationship. Seth MacFarlane wrote, directed, and acted in this film, so if you’re a fan of Family Guy, you’re bound to enjoy this hilarious take on a buddy comedy.

People Like Us June 29

Watch Trailer

Starring Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde and Michell Pfeiffer, this star-studded event could prove to be too heavy a cast to succeed, but the early reviews are postive. Inspired by true events, Sam, played by Pine, finds out that his father has suddenly died. He’s forced to head home and get his father’s affairs in order, which results in him reconnecting with the family he never knew much about. Throughout the story Sam finds out a secret that catches him by surprise – he has a 30-year-old sister (played by Banks). We haven’t seen much of Chris Pine since his true debut in Star Trek, although he did co-star alongside Denzel Washington in Unstoppable. It should be interesting to see how Chris deals with normal life problems, instead of spaceships, Spock, and speeding trains.

The Amazing Spider-Man July 3

Watch Trailer

The Amazing Spider-Man continues to look promising as loads of TV spots and interviews continue to roll out. Starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, this is director Marc Webb’s retelling of the Spider-Man franchise. Peter Parker is back in high school and trying to figure out who he is and why his parents left him to live with his aunt and uncle, played by veteran actors Michael Sheen and Sally Field. The villain in the film is played by Rhys Ifans, who goes from good doctor to bad lizard, after attempting to regrow his missing limb. This is a must-see for comic fans, and with two hot young actors at center stage, it’s bound to be a huge summer hit.

Katy Perry: Part of Me July 5

Watch Trailer

Katy Perry’s 3D motion picture event should be a huge treat for her fans. We’ve seen that these types of films can be hugely successful and enjoyable. It should give fans a front row seat to the passionate Perry and will reveal an intimate look inside her struggles on the road to fame.

The Dark Knight Rises July 20

Watch Trailer

The Dark Knight Rises is the epic finale to director Christpher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and should be the crown jewel of the summer. If you haven’t heard about it yet, you can’t possibly own a computer or a TV. Christian Bale is back as Bruce Wayne, but the story takes place eight years after the previous film, The Dark Knight. Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Marion Cotillard are joining the cast, along with previous fan favorites Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman. Tom Hardy plays the new villain Bane, who’s intent on destroying Gotham, as well as Batman, while Hathaway straps on leather and takes on the role of Catwoman. The legend ends in this final installment and we can’t imagine anything but perfection coming from director Chris Nolan.

The Watch July 27

Watch Trailer

When four regular guys living in suburbia get together as a way of escaping their boring lives, they stumble upon a secret that their neighborhood has been overrun by aliens, disguised as average surburbians. They soon realize it’s up to them to save their neighborhood and the rest of Earth from annihilation. The Watch has an enormous cast of funny-men, starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. This film is bound to result in some jaw-dropping moments of laughter, along with most likely mixed reviews from critics. Either way, it’s going to be worth seeing Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill finally team up to zap some bovines with an alien laser.

Total Recall August 3

Watch Trailer

If you missed the 1990 original film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Total Recall reboot is a futuristic sci-fi thriller, where one can turn their dreams into real memories. Colin Farrell plays factory worker Douglas Quaid, and despite having Kate Beckinsale as his wife, decides that he’s bored with his life and wants to test out the mind-altering experience of turning his memories into that of an experienced spy. He soon finds himself a wanted man, running from the police, where he teams up with Jessica Biel to join the underground resistance that’s lead by Bill Nighy. This reboot isn’t quite the guaranteed success that Spider-Man’s is, but Farrell has gotten his act together as of late, and with two of Hollywood’s hottest actresses on the payroll, it’s bound to be exciting.

The Bourne Legacy August 10

Watch Trailer

You’re most likely wondering why they’d do a Bourne sequel without Matt Damon, considering their previous success, but this isn’t exactly a sequel. The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) who plays another Treadstone asset that was in the field during the same timeline of Jason Bourne. Joan Allen is back as the sexy, highly determined CIA operative, with Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton joining what should be an infallible cast. Jeremy Renner has proven he’s quite the talent in his last few films and his star continues to rise – he will be an effective and calculated killer in The Bourne Legacy.

The Campaign August 10

Watch Trailer

It had to happen – Will Ferrell stars opposite Zach Galifianakis in the hilarious political comedy The Campaign. When congressmen Cam Brady (Ferrell) ends up making a huge mistake before an upcomming election, it gives Marty Huggins (Galifianakis) just the chance he needs to take on the powerful congressmen. There will be improv, there will be laughs, and there will be mudslinging.

Hope Springs August 10

Watch Trailer

Starring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, and Steve Carell, this drama/comedy will most likely be a sleeper hit. In Hope Springs, Streep and Jones are a couple, nearing their marriage’s 31st anniversary, when they decide it’s about time to check into some intense counseling to decide where their marriage is headed. Of course the weekend counselor is played by none other than Steve Carell, who attempts to teach them how to be a couple again. Knowing Streep, she’ll probably end up with an Oscar nod for her performance, and both Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell rarely disappoint.
