With the first season of FX’s American Horror Story well underway, Hypable’s AHS writers Sarah and Sonya have put together their predictions for what’s coming up on Ryan Murphy’s spooky new drama! See what we think is going to happen, then let us know your predictions for the remaining eight episodes.

[If you haven’t watched the first five episodes, beware of major spoilers revealed after the jump.]

Sarah:

When Sonya and I first decided to write American Horror Story predictions, we of course spent an hour brainstorming and bouncing our theories off one another. Then Ryan Murphy threw a curveball by tying up just about every loose end in the show (although most of our theories were correct, so that was an ego-boosting bonus). One of the major questions that he has yet to answer, however, is who—or what—is in the black suit and what is growing inside of Vivien? I don’t think the rubber man is a ghost, but I don’t think it’s human either. My best guest is that it’s the Frankenstein baby that Dr. Montgomery was trying to put back together in the 1920s flashback. Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure that it is the source of evil in the house that keeps the ghosts tied there and makes it so that just about every inhabitant dies there. Watching the 1×06 preview of Vivien eating a raw brain was probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen, and I’m pretty sure her baby is going to be some repulsive, monstrous demon. I fully anticipate seeing the baby rip its way out of her, but I doubt the end will be as charming as in Twilight.

And then there’s Tate. I knew his dream about killing his classmates was actually a flashback, Sonya knew that he was Constance’s son, but we argued about whether or not he was dead. Turns out, he definitely is, but why doesn’t he know it? At first I thought he must have killed himself, but the fact that he represses memories of his death leads me to believe that he was murdered. Probably by Constance or her husband. Speaking of her husband, I hope he reappears soon because I can’t stop wondering where he is.

Random other predictions just for the heck of it: Addie is a ghost and will reappear sooner rather than later; we’ll soon be introduced to Larry’s family—(Ryan Murphy actually just confirmed this one, and I can’t wait); Violet, Ben or Vivien will die before the season ends.

Sonya:

So in last week’s episode ‘Halloween, Part 2’ we learned that Constance is actually Tate’s mother. It has also become clear that Tate doesn’t recollect everything that happened in his past. You’d think he’d remember something like gunning down an entire high school! So if he doesn’t remember all of his past then maybe he doesn’t even release he’s dead. At least that’s what I think. Tate tells Violet that he thinks that he can’t have sex because of the meds her dad put him on. I really believe that Tate doesn’t know what’s going on. I believe that Tate is in denial that he’s dead because he seems genuine each time he comes up with an excuse for one of his ghostly attributes. So why doesn’t Tate remember being dead? I believe that Constance probably killed him, and did so in a way that wouldn’t mentally scar him. After Tate gunned down the school she knew he’d either be locked up for life or sentenced to the death penalty. As we all know, Constance is a selfish character. I don’t think that Constance could bear the thought of living without Tate. So knowing about the powers that the house has, she killed Tate on the grounds so he would be there forever as a ghost. Constance seems to like harming people through food so she most likely poisoned him.

Another big mystery on the show is the man in the rubber suit. Many are dying to know who he is! That’s just the thing though; I don’t think that the man in the rubber suit is a past owner. As revealed in ‘Halloween, Part 2’ male ghosts can’t get an erection. Although it looks like the female ghosts can still have sex. But the man in the rubber suit had sex and conceived with Vivien. Therefore it is more likely that he is an evil spirit or demon of some kind. As long as Vivien is pregnant with the demon baby I think that she will be safe in the house. Although he won’t hurt her, this may cause the man in the rubber suit to target the rest of her family. I think in later episodes he may appear as a human but isn’t actually one.

Do you agree or disagree with our predictions? What do you think is in store for Ben, Violet, Vivien and all the other American Horror Story characters?
