The holiday season is a time for tradition whether it be watching A Christmas Story on repeat or making marzipan pigs (ask Selina!). Holiday books also play a part in holiday celebrations. Check out the Hypable staff picks below!

Andrew’s choice is The Snowman because its a holiday classic. Jimmy picks a another classic, The Giver. It’s not strictly about Christmas, but there’s all the lovely Christmas stuff within. Then there’s the book where Santa Clause is the Deux Ex Machina… Lyle’s pick is the Harry Potter series because every year ABC family plays the movies as part of their 12 Days of Christmas, and he always want to read them afterwards. Laura’s choice, in her own words, is the very sappy Gift of the Magi. Selina picks A Christmas Carol, because of all the funny movie adaptations and because it’s so moving and comes full circle in a really clever way.

My choice is The Polar Express. When I was in elementary school we always had Polar Express day right before Christmas.  We were allowed to wear pajamas to school and they gave us hot cocoa while we read the book.  Now that I am the teacher it is a tradition we still do every year, school wide.  It just reminds us of the holiday season.
