Love television or film? Love writing? Hypable is looking for three new writers who can help us cover the world of fandom.

We’re currently looking for two television writers and one movie writer. The TV writers will be tasked with covering certain shows multiple times weekly while they’re in season. The movie writer will cover a wide range of the biggest movies.

Please only apply if...
– TV writers: You love (or are tentatively interested in) and can cover two to three of the following fandoms: American Horror Story, How to Get Away with Murder, Westworld and new series Emerald City, Riverdale, Midnight Texas, and Powerless.
– Movie writers: You love everything about Hollywood, and you have a particular interest in the BIG franchises/movies (and the little movies too.. but mostly the big ones).
– You have strong writing skills
– Ideally, you have a background in writing (college classes, career, etc)
– You can dedicate at least 1 – 2 hours a day to work on stories.
– You can publish 3-4 stories a week at a minimum of 300 words a piece.

What kind of stories will you be writing?

If you’re covering TV shows, you will be primarily focused on writing reviews of new episodes, casting news, and most importantly, we need you to write in-depth analysis of the shows you cover! We’re also looking for articles that shine a spotlight on the community (fandom) surrounding the show.

If you’re covering movies, we’ll need you to cover the biggest movie news and analyze it. For example, if a trailer for a big movie comes out, we want you to talk about what’s in the preview. We also want you to look at the fandom surrounding the film series.

Due to the size and nature of Hypable, these writing positions are volunteer gigs. However, if you need credits for a college internship, we can absolutely take care of you!

Sound interesting? In an e-mail to writers@hypable.com, tell us…
– Your name, age, and location.
– What three TV fandoms above you’re an expert in, and what other shows you love that you may be interested in covering. These can be shows on network TV, Netflix, etc.
– How often you visit Hypable.
– Why you can meet the time requirements listed above.
– An example of your writing skills. Provide us with a link or attach two or three examples. Ideally these articles show your ability to write news and in-depth analysis, but we’ll look at anything that shows your talent.
– If you’re a college student and are looking for internship credits, let us know.

We must emphasize: This position takes strong dedication and daily reliability on your part. We will need you to be very reliable on a daily basis.

Application submission deadline: Friday, December 23

If we’re interested in your application, we will give you a test to try out your writing skills. If you’re accepted, we will give you training on how to write stories according to our guidelines.

Thank you for your interest!
