This week we award two new, but definitely deserving performers the highest title, and give a second nod to two more very deserving actors that truly went above and beyond.

As we all wait impatiently for the influx of amazing June movies and the return of shows like Teen Wolf (have you seen that teaser trailer?!) and True Blood, there has been plenty of great action happening elsewhere.

New shows, like The Night Shift, are popping up and we are falling in love, old favorites are hitting their stride (we’re looking at you Game of Thrones), and one look at the summer calendar has us excited for great things to come.

This week’s Hypable Honors highlights two unsung heroes, while the Otherwise Noteworthy section pays special tribute to two previously mentioned performers that absolutely stole the show yet again this week.

Hypable Honors

Show: ‘The Night Shift’

Actor: Eoin Macken

The Night Shift is only in its second week but Eoin Macken has shown just how talented he is in a short period of time. Macken plays TC Callahan, an army vet who is a bad ass doctor working the night shift at San Antonio Memorial. He doesn’t care for rules and may come off as an arrogant ass, but underneath it all TC is broken and struggling.

This week’s episode flashed back to when TC made the decision to give his brother’s heart to a fellow soldier in the middle of a war zone not long after losing him. You wanted to shake TC for his current behavior, but at the same time you wanted to console him for having to relive his brother’s loss as the man he gave the heart to lay dying in front of him.

Show: ‘Enlisted’

Actor: Chris Lowell

For those that know, Enlisted has faced a rough go of it, what with being cancelled, episodes having been aired out of order, and being placed in a horrible timeslot. Despite all that adversity, the final four episodes of its one and only season began hitting the airwaves this week, and we cannot help but take the opportunity to highlight the incredible talents of Chris Lowell as Cpl. Derrick Hill.

He has held down his role as the sardonic, mean spirited brother throughout the first season with amazing gusto, but watching him in his element this week as the two platoons battle prank war style was an absolute pleasure. Enlisted has painted a realistic picture of just how lovely and horrific brothers can be to one another, but has never lost its heart. If the creator has his way and the show finds a home on another network (or Netflix or Hulu *crosses fingers*), we will be happy to see the adventures of Derrick, Pete, and Randy Hill continue for a long time to come.

Otherwise Noteworthy

Show: ‘Game of Thrones’

Actor: Sophie Turner

A few short weeks ago, we highlighted the awesome work being done by Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, but little did we know what was lying a little ways into our future. By keeping Littlefinger on the ropes for as long as she did, Sansa took control of her own destiny this week and we realized just how effective her ways will be in the game of thrones currently playing out in Westeros.

Life hasn’t always been rosy for Sansa and watching her journey has been quite traumatic as well, but we are anxious to see her tango with the big dogs and teach them a thing or two. She learned quite a bit while playing the vulnerable little bird in King’s Landing all that time and is now ready to use those skills to her advantage. One thing is certain, she is no bystander anymore. Sansa Stark is officially playing the Game of Thrones.

Show: ‘Game of Thrones’

Actor: Pedro Pascal

In addition to Sophie Turner, we also highlighted the wonderful work of Pedro Pascal a number of weeks ago. He assaulted our screens with Dornish grace as the Red Viper, Oberyn Martell, on Game of Thrones this season. His character met his gruesome, bloody end this week, but we will always consider him a formidable and skilled adversary.

He is welcome on our screens anytime. As the charming and smooth talking Red Viper, Pedro Pascal made us putty in his hands in such a short time. As characters come and go quickly on Game of Thrones, we don’t often find ourselves getting attached to anyone new (as that is usually is just a recipe for heartbreak), but we definitely fell for Pedro Pascal’s debonair ways and will miss him terribly for a long time to come.
