This week’s selections for Hypable Honors are a pair of young ladies that are proving that no matter what network you’re on, a great performance is just that.

It’s easy to discount shows that air on the CW or ABC Family as less prestigious than those that air on cable or premium networks, but that doesn’t mean that they actually are. Some of the most original and interesting programming can be found on those networks, and this week’s selections for Hypable Honors hail from two of such shows.

If you haven’t been watching The 100, you should, if not for this week’s honored actress, then for the story as a whole. Likewise, you should also give Chasing Life a try if you haven’t before. They’ve taken the trope of illness changing lives and harnessed it to breathe freshness into the story.

And now it’s time to present our Hypable Honors recipients for this week, and they are more than deserving.

Hypable Honors

Show: ‘The 100’

Actor: Eliza Taylor

The 100 season 2 finale brought our heroes full circle: Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia, Monty and Jasper were left to fight Mount Weather alone, the last hope as their people faced slow, torturous deaths at Cage’s hand.

Clarke did the unthinkable, and sacrificed the innocent people inside Mount Weather to save her own, and Eliza Taylor delivered one of her best performances of the season. Truthfully she’s been consistently fantastic all year, and this end-of-season award isn’t just for the finale, but for every single moment we have hurt and cried with Clarke as her life continued to get worse and worse. Poor girl needs a holiday (and maybe that’s where she was headed after she left Camp Jaha!).

Show: ‘Chasing Life’

Actor: Haley Ramm

When we first met Brenna in episode 1, she seemed almost two dimensional, but now that we’ve seen her scale issues ranging from finding out that her deceased father had another family in Florida to her own sexual identity, she has blossomed into an incredibly rich character. That journey, that has taken place in less than 19 episodes, is absolutely remarkable, and it wouldn’t be nearly as noteworthy without the impressive work of Haley Ramm.

There has been no shortage of drama for Brenna, but keeping that drama from overshadowing the heart of the story is no easy feat. Haley has managed that in spades. She brings warmth and intensity to whichever story she’s telling.

We loved seeing her character’s reunion with Greer on this week’s episode, as the girls seem to challenge each other in great ways. Hopefully Brenna can continue to be a nurturing, supportive influence no matter what obstacles life throws at her and her family, but no matter what’s going on, we’re sure that Haley Ramm will handle it with ease.
