This week’s chosen pair represent a beloved character and a new face on the scene, sort of a passing of the torch if you will. Check out this week’s selections for Hypable Honors!

Another week, another couple of deaths on True Blood, some threatening new characters on Teen Wolf, and more complications for those still kicking on The Leftovers. What can we say, it’s definitely summer on television.

This week’s selections for Hypable Honors highlight both ends of the spectrum, as we have a relative newcomer and a TV veteran that both did remarkable work. It just so happens that they both have some sharp teeth in common, but we see that as more of a coincidence than actual fate. Check out this week’s selections for Hypable Honors below, and let us know who you this deserved a nod in the comments below!

Hypable Honors

Show: ‘True Blood’

Actor: Joe Manganiello

This week’s episode of True Blood brought about the end of quite a few vamps, a human character that’s been around since the beginning, and one very beloved pack master.

Joe Manganiello has been a solid addition to the show since he first appeared back in 2010, even when the storylines his character was given didn’t quite meet the fans’ growing expectations. He added his bulky physique to the already impressive line up of leading men on the show, but he managed to hold his own against the vampiric competition.

True Blood has brought out all the stops for its final season, and while we were sad to see Alcide Herveaux go, at least he went out a hero. He had just saved the woman he loved from a vamp attack, and recieved a shot to the back for his trouble. We wish he and Sookie could have had a decent goodbye scene, but the three bullets to the torso ended his run on the show mid-stride.

Show: ‘Teen Wolf’

Actor: Dylan Sprayberry

While we were all sad to see fan favorite characters Alison and Isaac not returning to Beacon Hills for season 4, the energy that the new characters have infused into the show have done wonders for helping us all recover from season 3B’s looming darkness. The newest face to appear belongs to Dylan Sprayberry, who plays the freshman lacrosse all-star, Liam.

Not only did Liam’s presence on the field challenge Scott, but later in the episode Scott is forced to make an impossible decision regarding Liam, and the consequences will continue to challenge Scott for many episodes to come.

It’s nice to see our pack dealing with a few typical high school problems this season, not to mention how glad we all are that lacrosse (and Coach!) is back on our screens.

Liam brings a brand new dynamic to the show and the pack that we haven’t yet had on Teen Wolf: the little brother. Stiles and Scott now have a little brother figure to guide through all the challenges he will undoubtedly face growing up in Beacon Hills, especially after the events of “Muted.”
