Fall premieres are closer than ever, and as two of our favorite series ended their current seasons this week, we thought we’d shine a little light on their brightest stars.

This week for Hypable Honors, we highlight a pair of finales as a few of our favorite summer series close up shop for another season. Yes, they both happen to play some facet of law enforcement, but we like to just think of that as a happy coincidence. Check out who we believe is worthy of Hypable Honors this week.

Hypable Honors

Show: ‘The Leftovers’

Actor: Justin Theroux

For nine episodes, The Leftovers has dragged Justin Theroux’s character Kevin Garvey along the line of insanity. Watching his family abandon him one by one, trying to move on from the events of The Departure, and keep order in Mapleton in light of a cult’s insistence that the town remain cemented in the memories of the past, Kevin’s sanity is wavering. In this week’s finale, Justin Theroux went through the ringer of finally talking about his experience on the day of the Departure, his fear of losing his grip with reality, and his desire to get back his family. This episode saw Kevin navigate his nightmares in both dreams and reality.

Upon returning home to Mapleton, audiences see the resulting chaos of the Guilty Remnant’s Memorial Day actions through the eyes of Kevin. He rescues his daughter from a flaming house and watches his wife walk away from their family one more time. As the episode closes, Kevin returns home, not defeated, but with the realization that he needs to stop looking for more and focus on the things he has in front of him.

Show: ‘Teen Wolf’

Actor: Linden Ashby

On a finale episode that featured strong performances all around from the Teen Wolf cast, it was difficult to narrow it down to just one to highlight on this week’s Hypable Honors. After some back and forth on two cast members in particular, we finally settled on our winner. We already awarded one half of this feelings-inducing duo Honors earlier in the season, but it felt right to give props to the elder Stilinski this time around. Not only did the Sheriff bring the usual dose of Stilinski feels that we’ve come to know so well — are we the only ones still laughing at the “I’m going to hobble you” line? — but he was also the first to do what no one else has been able to this season. Defeat a Berserker. The only thing that was missing was the Bad Boys theme playing triumphantly in the background. Well, we may have been humming it under our breath…

From badass action, heart-wrenching familial feelings, and a little bit of vindictive humor (how many times do you think he’s had to resort to cuffing Stiles to a desk?), Sheriff Stilinski had it all in this episode. We can’t wait to see what Linden Ashby brings to the role when we move into Season 5. We wouldn’t mind a little bit of romance with a certain nurse, hint hint, nudge nudge.
