Another sweaty summer week has passed, and another batch of great summer performances were watched. For those that aren’t passing the hours watching the Big Brother live feeds, here are our picks for this week’s Hypable Honors.

Summertime brings with it what most people call the “off season” but with most networks trying to boost summer ratings, some of the best shows on television air during these few warm months. Shows like Under the Dome and True Blood have just begun to air, while we all anxiously await Doctor Who and Outlander‘s arrivals.

This week’s choices are a couple of powerhouse ladies. One has been delivering solid performances throughout True Blood‘s seven season run, and the other is new on the scene courtesy of Penny Dreadful. All we can say is that they are definitely worthy of Hypable Honors.

Show: ‘Penny Dreadful’

Actor: Eva Green

Eva Green has done a fantastic job all season long on Penny Dreadful, but where she really shone was in her possession scenes. While we’re a week late to highlight those scenes specifically, the Penny Dreadful season finale once again showed us Green’s ability to really pull off not only the crazy drama, but the calmer and more emotional scenes as well. We’d be missing something huge if we didn’t honor her at least once this season!

Show: ‘True Blood’

Actor: Carrie Preston

If you’ve watched True Blood at all during it’s first 6 seasons, you know just how impressive Carrie Preston can be. She steals nearly every scene she’s in, and her character has had some truly horrific storylines (cough, Rene, cough). This week’s episode had Arlene literally feet from death, and even then she never threw in the towel. We have always loved Carrie Preston, and we thought it was about time we paid her her dues.
