Hailing from Scottsdale, Ariz., The Summer Set have come a long way in four years to establish themselves as fan favorites in the pop punk scene.

Up beat pop rock melodies and quick witted lyrics, both of which are staples in The Summer Set’s sound, will undoubtedly bring to mind thoughts of late night shenanigans had with good friends.

We recently caught up with lead singer of The Summer Set, Brian Dales,  who spoke with us about what fans can expect from the band’s upcoming third studio album, and talked about their fresh new single, “F*ck U Over”.

During the interview, Dales talked about the difference between their first two albums, describing Love Like This as being very rhythmic and up tempo, while stating that their latest full length album, Everything’s Fine, was very much an ’emotional, post-break up record.’

Though Dales doesn’t want to give too much away in regards to The Summer Set’s new album (set to drop early next year) he did have the following to say in regards to what fans can expect to hear on the band’s yet to be titled third full length record:

“I think this new record is kinda just getting back to that fun– that life– and I think having that whole summer off and just really living inspired these songs.” said Dales. “These songs are just about being young, having a good time, and making mistakes.”

Additionally, Dales also talked about The Summer Set’s newest single, “F*ck U Over”— a catchy, up-tempo number with blunt, sarcastic lyrics– saying that the band has been overwhelmed by how amazing the response to the song has been so far.
