Seemingly taking advantage of Mockingjay, Part 2 hype, the theme park hosting the first Hunger Games attractions today announced details about the rides you’ll be able to… enjoy?

Next year Motiongate Dubai will open a Hunger Games-themed land with two rides and a handful of other Panem attractions. These same attractions are expected to open in a second Hunger Games park in Atlanta, Georgia around 2019.

The first attraction is described as “an immersive adventure which will take guests through the Capitol on board a hovercraft to see the world of Panem” while the second ride is a “roller coaster which transports guests from District 12 to the Capitol via a super high-speed Capitol bullet train.”

“With impressive staging that recreates life in Panem, visitors to motiongate™ Dubai will be taken on a very special tour, flying through some of the most iconic landmarks of the Capitol with brand new footage shot especially for Dubai Parks and Resorts,” writes the theme park in a press release. “The adventure begins when guests board vehicles specially designed to replicate the hovercrafts from the film. However, it is not long before the craft catches the attention of the Peacekeepers and that’s when the action really starts and a thrilling battle in the sky ensues!”

One of our readers wrote about the problems with The Hunger Games theme park attractions last month — they’re disturbing because theme parks usually serve as an escape from the real world. In the case of Hunger Games theme park attractions, these types of places actually do exist in the real world. And they’re horrific.

Do these rides sound fun? I’m sure they’ll be thrilling as far as coasters go, but the stories they’re telling won’t be so fun. I can’t imagine walking into one of these parks and feeling comfortable with how depravity is on display for entertainment. Do a side of tissues come with the loaf of bread from Peeta’s bakery?
