Making good on their promise to expand their popular film and TV franchises outside our screens, Lionsgate has announced Lionsgate Entertainment City, coming to New York City’s Time Square in 2019.

Attractions themed around The Hunger Games, Divergent, Mad Men, and John Wick will all be a part of the new indoor space. This is not your typical theme park. Rather, it seems it’ll be a venue hosting a bunch of different opportunities for fans of these #brands. Here’s what’s coming to NYC’s Lionsgate Entertainment City:

  1. A “Mad Men themed dining and lounge experience,” offering “fans an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy a night on the town inspired by the show’s 1960’s décor and decadence.”
  2. For Hunger Games fans, a “Hunger Games flying simulator attraction taking fans on an exciting rescue mission through The Capitol.” In addition there will be a Hunger Games-inspired Peeta’s Bakery and The Capitol Confectionery.
  3. For Divergent fans, a “Dauntless Challenge Course,” a “themed obstacle course
  4. For John Wick fans, a “shooting ride where fans go head-to-head with a series of assailants.”

The Hunger Games appears to be taking up the majority of the space, which isn’t a surprise considering it’s the studio’s biggest franchise. If you’re looking for more, a proper Hunger Games themed-land is in the works over in Dubai (and maybe Atlanta, Georgia), featuring much larger attractions.

Given New York City’s popularity with tourists, we’re sure Lionsgate Entertainment City will be a popular destination for Divergent and Hunger Games fans in town — if you can get over the fact that these attractions are themed around dystopia.
