The second teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay has been released and lives up to the expectations set by the first preview.

In today’s new Mockingjay teaser, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) begins a message about Unity as he’s flanked by Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Johanna (Jena Malone), and many Peacekeepers.

“Never have we been more unified as a nation… The Capitol and the districts are bound together in solidarity, striving to forge a stronger future,” says Snow.

His message is interrupted by a familiar face who you’ll recognize from the rebellion:

UPDATE (7/10): A new version of this teaser has been released with the message from District 13 edited out. Dammit, Snow!

Speculation: The third Mockingjay teaser (with Katniss finally making an appearance in which she’ll send a message to the people of Panem) will be released about two weeks from today. Then, the full-blown theatrical trailer will be released at San Diego Comic-Con.

We think the trailer will drop at SDCC since Catching Fire’s premiered there last year.

In the book by Suzanne Collins, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and the others of District 13 film rebellion messages which are broadcast to the country. These teasers that Lionsgate are releasing fit in perfectly with the original story.

Today’s new teaser is expected to run with The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in theaters across the United States this weekend.

Mockingjay, Part 1 opens in theaters this November, and Part 2 will be released next November. Both films are directed by Francis Lawrence.
