Last month we learned that Lorde would be curating the Mockingjay soundtrack and contributing her own single. Now the artist has shared a preview.

Recently on her social media channels, Lorde shared what is apparently the first line of her yet-to-be-titled The Hunger Games: Mockingjay single.

It reads, “I’m a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm.”

She posted the following preview on Instagram:

It’s a little too early to know whether she wrote the song in the voice of Katniss, but we do know that Lorde is a huge fan of The Hunger Games. Said Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence about Lorde’s involvement with the franchise, “I was immediately struck by how she so innately understood what we, as both fans and filmmakers, were trying to accomplish with the film. Her immense talent and keen understanding of Mockingjay’s characters and themes not only have enabled her to create a song of her own that completely captures the film’s essence, but her insight and passion for our project make her the perfect creative force to assemble the other songs on our soundtrack.”

After Lorde shared a lyric from the song, Billboard learned that the artist recorded her single at an Asbury Park, New Jersey studio after being referred there by legendary rock and roll artist Bruce Springsteen. Lorde and Springsteen first connected when the latter covered “Royals” during a pair of New Zealand concerts earlier this year.

Presumably Lorde’s single will be the first to be released from the Mockingjay soundtrack.

Information about which other artists are involved with the compilation has yet to be revealed.

Later this week Lionsgate will be unveiling the long-awaited Mockingjay poster depicting Katniss Everdeen. Until then, check out her back side.
