Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence already knows what the final visual will be in The Hunger Games series.

The fourth movie Mockingjay, Part 2 is still two years away from its theatrical debut, but filming commenced last month and will resume once the cast has wrapped promotion for Catching Fire.

Lawrence says in an interview with MTV that the final moment will be “a very small, minimal scene of Katniss hunting.” He added that they’re filming Mockingjay a bit out of order. “The very first scene we shot was almost the very last scene of Part 2.”

The final shot for Katniss is fitting given the series has seen Katniss keeping her bow and arrow close at all times for protection. We can imagine her hunting peacefully while music slowly begins to rise. Then the camera fades to black and the credits begin to roll.

The ending will be a clear departure – storytelling wise – from Catching Fire and probably Mockingjay, Part 1. Movie two, in theaters tomorrow, ends on a major cliffhanger just like it does in the book.

Like any good Hollywood franchise, this one should end on a positive note. We just wonder if Katniss will be hunting in the epilogue or present day?

Mockingjay, Part 1 hits theaters November 20, 2014 and Part 2 arrives November 20, 2015.

Thanks, MTV.
