In perhaps a slightly unlikely partnership, Humble Bundle and EA are working together to provide the Humble Origin Bundle, a collection of eight triple-A games available to buy for whatever price you want.

In one of the more astonishing gaming deals of recent memory, this Humble Bundle will provide Origin keys at any price you want for EA titles Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Burnout Paradise, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor and Mirror’s Edge.

If you pay more than the average (which currently stands at $4.53), you get Origin keys for The Sims 3, its expansion pack Late Night, and The Sims 3: High-End Loft Stuff, in addition to Battlefield 3.

Steam keys are also available for most of the titles. The Sims 3, Battlefield 3 and Dead Space 3 are only available on Origin. It’s almost like Valve have something against threequels.

It is worth noting that the keys are for Windows only, with the exception of The Sims 3, which also runs on Mac.

This Humble Bundle differs from many others in that 100% of the proceeds will go to EA’s chosen charities: the Human Rights Campaign, Watsi (a charity that crowdfunds medical care of those in need), the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society.

You can, of course, still tip the Humble Bundle staff, but EA will not obtain any of the funds.

Whilst at first this might seem an odd move from EA, the inevitable boost it’ll give to EA’s reputation ahead of Gamescom is invaluable, particularly after the tough year its had with SimCity‘s disastrous release.

Further, the bundle will tie hundreds of thousands more users to Origin, its digital distribution platform (and direct rival to Steam).

The bundle is available to download for the next two weeks. Over 200,000 bundles have already been sold since its launch mere hours ago, which equates to over $900,000 in donations.
