Humble Indie Bundle 8 has ended and brought in over $2.6 million for indie game developers and charities. The bundle included 11 indie games and ten soundtracks.

After being on sale for two weeks, the latest Humble Indie Bundle has raised exactly $2,629,440.62 from 448,761 separate purchases, an average of $5.86 per bundle.

This total is slightly less than the previous Humble Indie Bundle raised, but more than Humble Indie Bundle 6.

Minecraft creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson topped the donation list, pledging $5,000.

Originally, the bundle was comprised of Dear Esther, Little Inferno, Awesomenauts, Capsized, Thomas Was Alone, Proteus and Hotline Miami.

After a week on sale, four further games were added, namely Intrusion 2, Tiny and Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers, English Country Tune and Oil Rush.

All games sold in Humble Bundles are digital rights management (DRM) free, and gamers can choose how much to pay for the bundle, and the proportion of the price they’d like to give to charity or the developers. Steam keys are also available if more than $1 is paid.

A recent addition to the Humble Bundle website are weekly sales, where games or game franchises are available to purchase using the same pay-what-you-want pricing scheme of the indie bundles.

The current Humble Weekly Sale is the Serious Sam series. If you pay more than the average you unlock Serious Sam 2 and 3.
