It’s about to get easier to take your TV shows with you wherever you go.

Hulu has announced that they’re preparing a feature that’ll let you download TV shows in their app for offline viewing. This’ll let customers stream their shows when they have limited or no wifi (like on a plane).

Netflix has had a similar feature since 2016. It’s incredibly comforting to be able to download your TV shows or movies and take them anywhere that your phone or tablet can go.

Hulu’s downloaded content will come with ads if you’re on the $7.99/mo plan. Those who subscribe to the ad-free plan won’t have to deal with advertising.

“The new feature will make it possible for subscribers to access their favorite shows and movies on the go, with no internet connection required, and will give advertisers the opportunity to reach their target audiences in a viewing experience never before available to advertisers,” they said Wednesday.

Added Peter Naylor, SVP of Advertising Sales at Hulu, “Our launch of the industry’s first ad-supported downloadable content experience is yet another example of how Hulu is innovating viewer-first ad solutions to drive powerful results for brands. With downloadable content, we’re offering brands more ways to connect with engaged viewers who love the experience of watching television, wherever they may be.”

Hulu says the option to download will launch “during the 2018-19 upfront season,” which means it’s coming later this year.
