Carola Lovering’s Tell Me Lies will be the latest novel to get the book-to-series adaptation over at Hulu.

On Tuesday (August 3), Hulu announced that it has given a straight to series order to Tell Me Lies.

Based on the book of the same name by author Carola Lovering, the forthcoming drama follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years.

When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

The forthcoming series adaptation of Tell Me Lies has already found its star in Grace Van Patten (Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers), who will take on the role of Lucy Albright.

Described as “sheltered, but well-adjusted,” Lucy hails from an affluent Long Island town. On campus, she’s earned the label of “Ice Queen” among her friends for her acerbic humor and cool demeanor. There’s more to Lucy than meets the eye though. Inside, she’s hiding a childhood trauma that’s left her feeing disconnected from her peers. Meeting Stephen and the darkness within him, however, winds up bringing her own demons to light.

Behind the scenes, Meghan Oppenheimer has been tapped to write the pilot in addition to serving as executive producer on the adaptation.

Also set to serve as executive producers on Tell Me Lies are Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss of Belletrist, Laura Lewis for Rebelle Media, and Shannon Gibson of Vice Studios. Finally, Lovering will serve as a consulting producer.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Tell Me Lies debut via Hulu.
