Amy Poehler and Dave Becky’s new half-hour comedy Difficult People has been given a straight-to-series order by Hulu.

While Amy Poehler still has a season of Parks and Recreation left, she’s keeping busy with other projects.

The comedienne has developed a new comedy series with Louis writer Dave Becky, which has been picked up by Hulu for a full season order. It is likely to premiere in 2015, or early 2016.

Difficult People stars Julie Klausner (who wrote the pilot, and will also serve as executive producer) and Billy Eichner, who play a pair of best friends living in New York City who get themselves into “awkward situations.”

Commenting on the casting in an official statement, Poehler says, “I tend to enjoy funny people creating and starring in comedy programs, and Julie and Billy are the funniest around.”

Both Eichner and Klausner are known for their work on Funny or Die and Fuse TV’s Billy on the Street.

A presentation pilot for Difficult People was originally presented to USA Network, but Hulu ended up placing a direct-to-series order for the project.

Hulu’s head of content Craig Erwich says in a statement: “Amy Poehler, Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner are a dream team of comedic possibilities. We look forward to bringing this hilarious view of the world to Hulu with our partners at Universal Cable Productions.”

Hulu has also recently ordered Jason Reitman’s Casual comedy, and a nine-episode adaptation series of Stephen King’s Kennedy conspiracy novel 11/22/63.
